Sony Computer Entertainment America is bringing its sports game development in-house.
The company is acquiring Red Zone Interactive, the developers of the NFL Game Day series published under Sony’s 989 Studios label. Red Zone will become a division of SCEA's first party development operations under the direction of Shuhei Yoshida. Red Zone’s 65 employees will continue to work out of Red Zone’s San Diego headquarters, exclusively on Playstation titles. Financial terms were not disclosed.
