Sony Computer Entertainment has reorganized its management structure across all of its international branches, reports consumer video game site GameSpot, citing Japanese-language news releases from the company. According to these reports, the company has created a new branch, and promoted several of its existing managers to higher positions of oversight. The new branch is Sony Computer Entertainment Asia, another division in the manner of Sony Computer Entertainment Incorporated (Japan), Sony Computer Entertainment America, and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. The new branch will oversee all non-Japan Asian markets, particularly China. Leading the new SCE Asia will be Tetsuhiko Yamada, former managing director of SCE Hong Kong. In game production, Phil Harrison has been promoted from SCE Europe executive president to SCE chief executive producer, in which capacity he will oversee Sony Computer Entertainment's worldwide game production. Underneath him will be the newly created SCE Japan Studio, designed as an umbrella for all of SCE's Japanese first-party games, and Kazunori Yamauchi, who has been promoted from president of Polyphony Digital to corporate executive in charge of Polyphony Digital. Said change may indicate nothing more than a cosmetic change indicating his new status as an SCE executive. Lastly, Masayuki Chatani has shifted from being SCE's Chief Technology Officer to the deputy chief for the Computer Business Group's new Computer Development Division, though he will remain as SCE's CTO and corporate executive.
