As hinted at in earlier meetings with market analysts, Sony Computer Entertainment America today has announced a new $249 'Entertainment Pack' holiday bundle, including a movie, game, and 1GB memory stick for its PSP handheld. On September 13th it will release the bundle, which includes a black model PSP, its ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails game -- recently entered into its Greatest Hits line -- and Sony Pictures' "Lords of Dogtown" UMD movie, as well as a 1GB memory stick. At a MSRP of $249.99, it puts this season's holiday pack at a price below last year's Giga pack, which included only the 1GB memory stick, and in line price-wise with the portable's original Value Pack, which included a UMD sampler, but only a 32MB memory stick. Purchased separately, Sony has added, the component parts would retail at more than $300. "The PSP system's success stems from its ability to combine console-quality gaming with multimedia applications, and this new package showcases all of the system's strengths," said Peter Dille, senior vice president, marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Whether consumers want to pick up and play one of our top racing franchises, watch a movie, or enjoy their own music, photos, downloadable content and more, the PSP Entertainment Pack delivers it all in one convenient package."
