As it brings its handheld firmware to 3.10, promising more full-featured downloadable demos, Sony has also announced the contents of its Thursday PlayStation Store update, including the downloadable Jet Moto. Though seemingly sparing on major new functionality usually befitting a full point update, Sony has released its latest 3.10 PSP firmware to American users. Contents of the new firmware include 'expanded' support for PlayStation Network titles, and an update to its LocationFree Player, including MPEG-4 AVC format file support, for those with a Base Station model number LF-B20 or LF-B10. In addition, it has updated the handheld's web browser with a 'conserve memory' option for better and faster browsing, and added a 'dynamic normalizer' option to its music features. Despite the lack of groundbreaking features, Sony has also announced that the new firmware update will be required to play the new Killzone: Liberation demo it has released through its website, for direct download from the PSP, or through a PC to be transferred to the memory stick. On the PlayStation 3 front, Sony has announced that Thursday it will be updating the PlayStation Store with two new downloads. The first is the promised multiplayer pack for its downloadable dual-stick shooter Blast Factor, which offers a variety of 1-4 player multiplayer modes both cooperative and competitive, and an option to play the game 150 percent faster than normal. The pack will be offered at $2.99. Finally, the PlayStation Store will see the release of the PlayStation original racer Jet Moto for download and play on the PSP.
