Middleware company IDV, producer of the real-time foliage simulation SpeedTree, has announced the release of a real-time demo called SpeedTree: Trees Of Pangaea, described as "a collection of seven unique forests that show off the increasing capacity of SpeedTree to create worlds with vast foliage and incredible beauty and realism." SpeedTree's forest simulation software, the subject of a forthcoming Gamasutra postmortem, has been or is being integrated into games from developers such as NCSoft, Mythic, and Big Huge Games.
