Officials from Japanese toy and video game publisher Takara have announced that the company will be acquiring Broccoli, Inc. Specializing in game merchandise chain stores and owners of a number of original IPs, including Digit Charat and Galaxy Angel, Broccoli have previously worked with Takara on a number of projects. Takara (makers of Transformers and Beyblade) plan to acquire 10,000 shares of Broccoli by October and make the company an official subsidiary by the beginning of its next fiscal year in March 2004. Broccoli, Inc. was first listed on the JASDAQ in 2001 and opened an American subsidiary in 2002.
