The Artery, a community for the creative in Vancouver, British Columbia, has announced the winner of their recent Designer Buzz Challenge, a game design idea contest. Following the submissions to the Challenge, judges selected Chris Martin's one-pager as the winner. Chris will receive a one year digital subscription to Game Developer Magazine courtesy of GameCareerGuide.com. The winning entry, titled Tom Thumb, was chosen for the clever integration of the original fairytale material and the player character experience. Noted by judges, "the game world is immense in scale- we felt this would make for very interesting visuals and level design. Also, we were quite taken with the element of 'tomfoolery' which plays to the curious and exaggerated nature of fairy tale settings." Honorable mention goes to Wildfire and JohnnyH, who made strong showing with their pitches for the Twelve Brothers and The Lord of Animals and Devils. For more information, visit The Artery.
