The Artery, an artist networking community in Vancouver, British Columbia, is putting on the Designer Buzz Contest, a game design pitch contest spurred by buzz around the community starting January 2007. Submissions are made up of a standard one-page pitch document, including: - An Essence Statement - General Overview of the Game - Key features the game offers - Genre of the game - Target audience Buzz for this contest is defined by the number of comments or relating threads a participant receives about their pitch on the forums of The Artery. They will also be judged by the community on their creativity, and finally, the quality of their work. The winner will receive public recognition of their work on The Artery site, including a spotlight on the Artery’s awards and recognition page, as well as a spot on the Gamer’s Career Guide on “Increasing Awareness to the online community in just one pitch” written by the winner, and finally a digital subscription to Game Developer Magazine.
