Pharmaceutical and biotech sales training provider Total Learning Concepts has announced Serious Game-Based Learning System, a customizable game-based learning system that it says will help sales reps increase knowledge and retention by as much as 10 times. The system was developed by game-based sales training program creator Qube Learning, and promises to not only help representative retention, but to do so at "a fraction of the development time and cost of custom game-based learning programs." Qube's systems utilize customizable instructional game templates, and include an online authoring platform that allows biopharmaceutical companies to develop custom games with subject matter delivered in any media form, including instructor-led training, PowerPoints, books, videos, and webinars. Total Learning says the new system also includes the QBook, an easily customizable online page-turning book which completely integrates with the games, which can be used as an alternative to webinars, PowerPoints, or PDF files. Said Total Learning director of eLearning Strategies Dr. Glen Low, “People undergoing training typically retain less than 5 percent of what they’ve learned after just six weeks. By using the Serious Game-Based Learning System, people retain over 45 percent of what they’ve learned in this same time frame. Based on years of research into the science of learning. the system imprints information onto the learner’s brain so he or she ‘owns’ it.”
