UK BAFTA Game Awards Honor GRAW, LocoRoco

The 2006 British Academy Video Games Awards, which are open to video games released worldwide in the last year, awarded a multitude of titles in a London ceremony last night, with Ubisoft's GRAW winning out for Best Game.

The 2006 British Academy Video Games Awards, which are open to video games released worldwide in the last year, were announced at a ceremony on Thursday at the Roundhouse venue in London. A great variety of winners was seen, with several titles picking up more than one award. Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter grabbed the Technical Achievement and Best Game nods, and Sony's LocoRoco won out for Best Character and Children's Game. In addition, Shadow Of The Colossus won out for Artistic Achievement and Best Action & Adventure. Other notable winners were Nintendo's DS title Brain Training for Innovation and LucasArts' multi-platform game Lego Star Wars II for Gameplay.
