The continued lack of any major new releases in the UK has ensured that the British video game software sales top ten has remained almost identical to the previous week, with only one title out of the top five changing places. The only movement of note is Juiced, which has moved up four places to number four. Last year’s Pro Evolution Soccer title has also re-entered the top ten at number nine, in response to the beginning of the British soccer season. There are no new game entries in the top twenty, although Britain’s love for Sonic the Hedgehog has been proven once again with the re-entry of the budget priced Sonic 3D at number thirteen. Next week should mark the beginning of the end of the UK summer games drought, with the release of titles such as Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2 and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. The situation should be improved further with the launch of Sony's PSP handheld on the following week.
