Namco's Ridge Racer 6 for Xbox 360 has become the first significant new release of the year in the UK, entering the sales charts at a relatively high number twenty-five. In fact, although no Xbox 360 exclusive is yet to break into the top ten, this week has seen a number of Xbox 360 games perform surprisingly well – an indication of improving stock situations for the console itself. The majority of sales for Call of Duty 2, at number nine, are for the Xbox 360 version, with the rise of King Kong also apparently due to interest in the Xbox 360 version. Meanwhile, Project Gotham Racing 3 has climbed eleven places to number sixteen, Perfect Dark Zero has re-entered the chart at number twenty-seven and Quake 4 has re-entered at number thirty-eight – again led primarily by Xbox 360 sales. With little to stimulate sales on older formats, the PSP can also be seen to be performing well with Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City maintaining a top ten position twelve weeks after its initial release. The highest ranked Nintendo DS exclusive is Mario Kart DS at number thirty, although as usual, its overall sales may be underestimated, as bundled software is not included in the Chart-Track charts.
