Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.

The UK market has seen one of its busiest weeks so far this year, with multiple high-profile new entries, and only one title in the top ten more five weeks old. None of this has been enough to dislodge The Sims 2 from the top spot, but Star Wars: Battlefront has come close, with a highly successful launch on the back of the simultaneous release of the original Star Wars trilogy DVD set. The latest PGA Tour game has also done predictably well, but THQ will be especially pleased with the performance of Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War – which marks the first truly successful use of the license, by any company, in many years of trying. The long awaited Call of Duty mission disk has also performed impressively, considering it's a PC-only title requiring the ownership of an older game, but Codemasters will be disappointed in the charting of the usually stalwart Colin McRae – which has only just managed to limp into the top ten. The only notable new entry outside of the top ten is Animal Crossing at number nineteen. Constant dithering over release dates, and whether or not to release the associated e-Reader peripheral (in the end, Nintendo of Europe have chosen not to), has led to the game being released a full two years after its original appearance in North America and Australasia. Any attempt by Nintendo to claim this as proof that such offbeat titles do not sell in the UK would be disingenuous, considering how many grey imports have been sold in the intervening time.
