Half Life creators Valve and hardware company AMD have announced a new deal which will see owners of AMD's ATI Radeon graphics cards get free copies of Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch via Steam. Starting now, owners of Radeon cards can visit the official website for the deal, where Steam will automatically detect the presence of the card and enable access to the free games. Though Half-Life 2: Lost Coast has regularly been available as a free download, with particular use as a showcase for the game's upgraded engine with full HDR lighting, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, the multiplayer package, was previously only available as a $10 standalone title or with a number of other package deals. The two companies have also announced that Steam will be included as part of the software and driver packages included with Radeon products through early 2008.
