Officials from Vicious Cycle (Robotech: Battlecry, Robotech: Invasion) have announced the appointment of John O’Neill as the director of business development for the company’s multi-platform middleware development solution, Vicious Engine. O’Neill’s responsibilities in his new role include managing the Vicious Engine brand by building and maintaining strategic partnerships, organizing trade shows, managing relationships with publishers, clients and manufacturers, driving internal focus for the Vicious Engine, pursuing potential license sales, and directing marketing and public relations. The executive has worn many hats in the gaming industry, having begun his career at MicroProse Software in 1994, where he worked as a programmer on a variety of projects. After MicroProse, O’Neill worked as a programmer at Vicious Cycle, before moving on to establish and manage the international consulting branch for InstallShield Software. “We're extremely pleased that John has returned to manage the Vicious Engine division,” said Eric Peterson, Vicious Cycle's president. "His familiarity with the engine and our software, combined with his vast experience in the industry, will greatly increase the presence of the Vicious Engine in the game engine marketplace.”
