Representatives from motion capture system creator Vicon and its capture studio VICON House of Moves have announced that the company represents over half of Game Developer Magazine's list of top 20 2006 game publishers. The company notes that its motion capture systems have recently been installed at Activision and Ubisoft studios, adding to a client roster that also includes Electronic Arts, Microsoft Games, Midway Games, Sony Computer Entertainment of America, Capcom, Konami, NAMCO, Nintendo, and Sega, and notable recent work on games such as Guitar Hero II, and last year's reported work on Call of Duty 3. Vicon's MX+ systems, according to the company, provide "accuracy, scalability, performance and ease of operation for capturing and directing simultaneous facial, hand and full-body performances of actors, athletes, stunt people, dancers, musicians and props in real time," allowing studios of all sizes to provide more realistic motion in cinematics and gameplay. Said Vicon business development manager Robin Pengelly, "This has been a huge year for VICON in games. Whether building their own motion capture volumes, or tapping into the motion capture services at VICON House of Moves, games customers are migrating toward the quality, ease of use and reliability that VICON systems represent."
