Serious games company Virtual Heroes, which specializes in creating learning solutions for federal systems, announced that the company was named a 2006 Military Training Technology (MT2) Top 100 company for the second consecutive year. The MT2 Top 100, from Kerrigan Media International and Military Training Technology, is a listing of companies that have made a significant impact in the military training industry this fiscal year—whether in live, virtual or constructive simulation, training or education. The top 100 companies are chosen from more than 600 candidates based on various criteria, including total military sales, end-user feedback, innovations and need for the solution. According to MT2 officials, Virtual Heroes was chosen for the list for its significant achievement and competency in the areas of instructional design, digital engineering, project management, modeling and simulation, courseware development and assessment in providing unprecedented immersive training experiences. Virtual Heroes Was also recognized for its efforts with regards to a HumanSim dual-use medical training product platform for military personnel and civilian first responders. In 2005, Virtual Heroes was recognized by MT2 in 2005 for leading the industry in innovation through the creation of content and technology for America’s Army, the America’s Army Convoy Skills Engagement Trainer, TRADOC Future Solider Training System, and Special Forces Adaptive Thinking and Leadership application. “It is an honor to make the Military Training Technology Top 100 for the second year in a row,” said Jerry Heneghan, Virtual Heroes’ founder and CEO. “This is a great way to top off an exciting and productive year for Virtual Heroes leading into the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC).”
