Microsoft has announced that this Wednesday's regularly-scheduled Xbox Live Arcade update will see PomPom Games' Mutant Storm Empire, a 16-level sci-fi shooter with offline co-op and multiplayer Live support for two players. Microsoft also confirmed several XBLA titles expected "in the coming weeks," including Metanet Software's N+, which won the Audience Choice Award in the 2005 Independent Games Festival, originally announced for XBLA early this year. Also on the slate are two previously-announced THQ games, free-fall alien destruction title Screwjumper and the cartoon-themed SpongeBob SquarePants: Underpants Slam, both expected for November release. Other titles soon to hit XBLA include Activision's Shrek-n-Roll puzzler, Sierra Online's Switchball, Chair Entertainment's action shooter Undertow, and InterServ's Word Puzzle, a word-search game based on the pen-and-paper original.
