Sales of the Xbox console have apparently tripled in the UK, following its price cut to £99 ($176), with weekly sales rising to around 15,000. Sony have yet to reveal the results for their own price cut for the PlayStation 2, announced at the same time last month, but it is expected to be similar, with many UK retailers cutting the official PS2 price of £104.99 ($186) to match the Xbox's £99 mark.
