Microsoft has announced that the next game scheduled for its weekly Xbox Live Arcade updates will be Team17's highly anticipated multiplayer strategy game Worms. The Live Arcade version of Worms marks the latest in the popular turn-based strategy series born over a decade ago, and since ported to numerous platforms from Amiga, PC and Mac to handheld likes the Game Boy Color and N-Gage and nearly every major console. Apart from playing in HD, the Live Arcade version of the game will feature four-player multiplayer either locally or over Xbox Live, with a number of options for each session, including type of landscape, turn and round times, and the starting arsenal for each team. The game will also feature 20 single player challenges, 22 weapons and utilities, customizable elements including team and individual worm names, worm dialogue options, and selectable gravestones. The game will also feature the usual set of various achievements, and leaderboards broken down into weekly, monthly, and overall top players. The Live Arcade version of Worms will be made available on March 7th, as part if Microsoft's regular Wednesday updates, for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
