Microsoft has announced that this week's regular Xbox Live Arcade update will see the addition of Geometry Wars 2, the first title in its 'Summer of Arcade' lineup that will also feature Braid, Castle Crashers, and Bionic Commando Rearmed in coming weeks. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 is the sequel to the original that put Xbox Live Arcade on the map, and will feature six gameplay modes, and new enemies and scoring. The title will be released at 800 Microsoft Points ($10). The title kickstarts the 'Summer of Arcade' program that will follow on August 6th with Jonathan Blow's IGF winning time-shifting platformer Braid and the August 13th release of Capcom's updated Bionic Commando: Rearmed. Following that will be the August 20th release of Galaga Legions, Namco Bandai's reimagined shooter from the same team that created Pac-Man Championship Edition, and finally August 27th will see the release of side scrolling brawler Castle Crashers, from Alien Hominid developer The Behemoth. To mark the occasion, Microsoft has also announced that any customer that plays the trial or full version of each game will be entered into a weekly drawing for a grand prize of 100,000 Microsoft Points, 12 month Xbox Live Gold subscription and an Xbox 360 Elite console, two runner-up prizes of 10,000 Microsoft points and a free 12 Month Xbox Live Gold subscription, and five weekly prizes of 4000 Microsoft points.
