Microsoft has expanded its partnership with virtual reality outfit Oculus to bring Xbox One streaming to the Oculus Rift though new Windows 10 app.

When the service launches for free on December 12, Xbox One and Rift owners will be able to stream their game library through the virtual reality headset.

Players streaming through the Rift will see their game projected onto a massive screen in one of three virtual environments (as shown above).

A wide range of games will be compatible with the app, including flagship releases such as Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Halo 5, smaller scale indie efforts, and a number of backwards compatible Xbox 360 titles.

Last year, Microsoft kicked off its Oculus partnership by agreeing to ship a wireless Xbox One controller and PC adapter with every Rift.

It's also thought the console maker plans to bring full-fledged VR experiences to the Xbox One with the launch of the more powerful Project Scorpio.
