Newsbrief: Today, Zynga launched its previously announced Hidden Chronicles, a Facebook based hidden object game set within a large, Victorian estate. This game is a noted departure from Zynga's typical resource management games like FarmVille or CityVille, and bears some similarities to Playdom's tremendously successful Gardens of Time, a title that sees more than 7.6 million monthly active users, according to AppData. Prior to going public in late 2011, Zynga noted in an updated SEC filing that it needs to diversify its portfolio to drive user growth on Facebook, and Hidden Chronicles is the company's first attempt to do so since hitting the NASDAQ.
