“Newest demo comes to players around the globe!”

Global game publisher CFK (headed by Chang-sig Koo) is proud to announce today (10/4) that Chrono Sword, the new action RPG from 21cDucks, will participate in Steam Next Fest from October 14th to October 21st.
 
Chrono Sword recently unveiled its newest demo at the Tokyo Game Show 2024 (TGS 2024), successfully attracting a great deal of attention from visitors. It drew attention due to the long time since its last update and the enhancements made to the action and RPG elements compared to the version released during its kickstarter campaign.
 
The version of Chrono Sword to release at Steam Next Fest will include the introductory section not featured at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, allowing global players a longer glimpse of the game. With how long it’s been since players got a taste of Chrono Sword, this will be the perfect opportunity for them to see how the gameplay has improved.
 
Taking the feedback they get during Steam Next Fest, developer 21cDucks plans to expand upon Chrono Sword, doing their best to release it to Early Access this year once the game hits an acceptable level overall.
 
Chrono Sword is a pixel art Souls-like action RPG developed by Korean dev team 21c.Ducks that tells the story of the dark gothic fantasy world of Adelnor, where players must travel between the past and future to unlock its secrets.
 
Revealed first to the public in 2019, this Souls-like action RPG garnered a great deal of interest in Korea and abroad for its unique pixel graphics and gameplay. Selected as the first game in the collaboration campaign by North American crowdfunding site Kickstarter and the global game testing platform Game Round.Inc in 2020, it raised over seventy thousand dollars to successfully reach its funding goal.
 
Chrono Sword is a new take on the Souls-like genre, departing from the full 3D action RPGs on the market, choosing instead to fashion their Souls-like with pixel art and a quarter-view perspective. Since the announcement of this game, indie team 21c.Ducks has poured their hearts and souls into developing a strong storyline and advancing both the action and RPG elements of their Souls-like entry.
 
Chrono Sword renders its vast, three-dimensional world in pixel graphics. Players then step into the role of ‘time traveler,’ venturing freely between the past, present, and future in maps that seamlessly transition without loading screens. Developer 21cDucks has featured Chrono Sword in game exhibitions at home and abroad, where it was noted and awarded for its gameplay. They then took this experience and used it to further improve both gameplay and level design.
 
In addition, it has built on the heavy hits known to fans of the Souls-like genre while implementing new systems to create quicker, fiercer action. Details about these improvements to Chrono Sword will be released at a later date.
 
Along with the positive response to the improved gameplay of Chrono Sword during the Tokyo Game Show 2024, the key art released to celebrate its involvement in TGS 2024 also received a great deal of praise. This key art was the first glimpse players got at the male and female playable characters who will lead them through the events of this game. It depicts the desperation hanging over our characters’ journey as they attempt to prevent the destruction of their world.

On that night, as the city is enveloped in flames, you awaken to find your memories forgotten.
 
After defeating the insane residents of this place, you slip through a Time Gate to arrive at the world in the future. Within that ruined version of this world, you meet a dying woman, and her duties fall to you.
 
You then meet the woman’s companions and come to learn that you and they are ‘Time Travelers.’ You have the special power to travel between the past and present. Thus, it is possible for you to find the cause behind the fall of this world and stop it from happening.
   
Now, you must travel between the past and present, defeat the enemies that stand in your way, explore this world, and uncover the secrets of that fateful night.
 
All to prevent the annihilation of this world...
   
In July, CFK announced plans for the global release of Chrono Sword to all platforms. With the help of CFK, the developer’s current plan is to have a global multi-platform release for Chrono Sword to PC, Nintendo Switch™, Playstation™, and Xbox, with an additional goal to release to Steam Early Access in 2024. With their global know-how accumulated throughout the years, CFK is excited to help Chrono Sword take the global stage.
 
Publisher CFK and developer 21c.Ducks plan to do their very best to bring Chrono Sword to Early Access within this year. Prior to the release to Early Access, they both plan to show off the game at various events and exhibitions, allowing fans to get tastes of the game along the way.
 
21c.Ducks began their development path in 2015 with mobile game Timing Hero, moving onto release Super Pixel Racers on PC in 2018, distinguishing themselves for their abilities in game development and raising awareness about their company. Then once they unveiled Chrono Sword in 2019, the game was nominated for the Grand Prix/Judge Selection/Excellence in Art awards at the Busan Indie Connect Festival that very year. Then in 2022, it won a special award for excellence at the Burning Beaver festival.
