“Regeneration” Brings Sci-Fi Terror to Life: New Survival Horror Game Announced

September 24, 2024 – Misterial Games, known for their atmospheric and narrative-driven experiences, has officially announced Regeneration, a new entry in the survival horror genre. A playable demo will be available at Tokyo Game Show 2024 , from September 26th to 29th, offering attendees a chance to experience the unsettling atmosphere and dangers lurking within this abandoned post-Soviet complex.

Regeneration is a third-person survival horror game where you explore an abandoned post-Soviet complex as a scientist. Isolated from the outside world, you face anomalous creatures born from past experiments. Survive, uncover dark secrets, and stop the nightmare before it consumes everything.

Emphasizing tense exploration, scientific tools, and environmental hazards, Regeneration challenges players to adapt to a constantly evolving, hostile ecosystem. Utilize scanners, UV flashlights, and makeshift devices to manipulate your surroundings and uncover the hidden mysteries that lie within.

The game, developed by a small internal team on Unreal Engine 5, has been several years in the making. The demo version of Regeneration will debut at Tokyo Game Show alongside the studio’s other anticipated title, Stygian: Outer Gods.

“Regeneration draws inspiration from iconic sci-fi horror, crafting a psychological experience that leans on atmosphere and tension rather than jump scares,” said the development team at Misterial Games. “Working closely with seasoned industry veterans, we’ve refined the game’s eerie environments and unsettling gameplay to evoke a deep sense of dread, pushing players to confront their fears head-on.”

Regeneration is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, with console support and publisher details to be announced later. The game is already available for wishlisting on Steam.
