LOS ANGELES, CA – NOVEMBER 21, 2024 - Publisher Rogue Games alongside developer MAETH announced today its retro first person shooter SPRAWL is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. SPRAWL is a gory and gratifying cyberpunk movement shooter, where players become a former special operations super soldier named SEVEN, embarking on a quest for atonement in the eponymous megalopolis. Inspired by the style of anime classics like Akira and Ghost in the Shell and real world settings like the Kowloon Walled City, SPRAWL features an original dynamic score tied to a elevates the FPS experience
Haunted by her slaughter of innocent civilians during a failed military operation, SEVEN lives in exile on the outskirts of the SPRAWL. As she awaits to die in solitude, a voice in her head speaks up showing her that the Junta has decided to terminate her. This voice, ‘FATHER,’ instructs SEVEN to travel to the SPIRE, the towering needle protruding from the city’s center, to dismantle the regime and fulfill her penance… SEVEN obediently complies.
Take to the streets of this megalopolis, where each shootout is a high-speed game of combat chess. In SPRAWL players will use the SEVEN’s icarus implant to calculate every headshot and determine when to use the powerhouse shotgun to jump out of range. Time each wallrunning maneuver perfectly to decapitate, blast off skulls with a quick trigger pull, or slice operatives into pieces.
Players must think fast and adapt in order to survive a variety of enemies, like rapid-fire SMG elites, charging riot guards, and mechanical dogs. Solve each combat encounter creatively to reap different rewards like increased ammo drops, health boosts, and bullet time meter refills. SEVEN’s path to the SPIRE will be paved with blood. SPRAWL is a tyrannical world, where redemption does not come easy!
