01 June 2022: Shocap Entertainment, the cross reality entertainment production company, and The 7 Fingers, the international contemporary arts collective, collaborate to bring the hybrid ‘LiViCi’ show, Carry Me Home, to Animatrik Film Designs’ motion capture sound stage.

Carry Me Home is a fantastical experience that incorporates circus acts, live music performance and explores the boundaries of imagination through technology -  a live and virtual journey into the creative mind of singer-songwriter Didier Stowe.  This groundbreaking performance is available to experience online, via a video stream and with virtual reality headsets, or in-person, exclusively at the Animatrik Film Design Studios in Burnaby, Vancouver - Saturday, 4th June 2022.

In-person attendees at the Animatrik Film Design Studios will have a direct view of the theatrical performances, with motion capture technology being implemented by on-stage performers as they puppeteer their digital avatars in real-time to interact with the virtual environments.

Online audiences will have the choice to experience Carry Me Home in one of two ways: through a video live stream presented in a movie-like format, or to become further immersed into the world of the show with the use of virtual reality headsets. VR attendees will be able to move around the virtual arena and experience the show from a range of points of views - including through the eyes of the circus performers on stage.

“Since 2004, Animatrik has pushed the boundaries of what virtual production is capable of, and we’re incredibly excited to be working with The 7 Fingers to debut the ‘Carry Me Home’ show at our Vancouver studios. Merging the real with the virtual is what we’ve always strived to achieve, and the LiViCi show has the potential to present CG graphics to a live audience in a way that has never been seen before. It’s a perfect example of what happens when tech enhances storytelling and pushes the realms of imagination,” Brett Ineson, co-founder and executive director, Shocap Entertainment and CTO, Animatrik Film Design

“Our ambition is to entertain all audiences simultaneously with stunning hybrid live entertainment which excites and inspires the imagination. Through our 4-Audience Model of in-person performance, livestream video, interactive gameplay, and immersive VR, we’re pioneering new ways for audiences everywhere to come together, be entertained with quality productions and experience our events at any one time,” Athomas Goldberg, creative director, Shocap Entertainment

Carry Me Home features live music by Didier Stowe, a world-renowned acrobat turned singer-songwriter. The show is a tribute to the mind’s incredible capacity to imagine, dream, and create — a truly unique human trait that connects us all, presented in an inspiring, meaningful, and uplifting way. The cross-reality presentation opens up new ways for audiences worldwide to come together and be immersed and entertained in unison by a live, interactive performance.
