About VISEGUNNE

VISEGUNNE is a single-player shoot 'em up set in a world where the human soul has been scientifically proven to exist and is harnessed by a powerful military corporation to power ferocious weapons of war. Players take the role of End Visegunne, a space-mercenary armed with an advanced "soul-capable" robotic armature, tasked with hunting down and dismantling a pro-Earth resistance group. As part of an elite squad, players battle through immersive environments where cities are leveled, space colonies collapse, and orbital structures catastrophically crumble. A core tenet of VISEGUNNE's design is to capture the pure excitement of shooting down enemies by prioritizing over-the-top visual effects.

"VISEGUNNE hearkens back to the legacy of traditional horizontal shoot 'em ups before the genre's bullet-hell boom. We wanted the game's gunplay to feel visceral and impactful, so we hyper-focused on adding details to augment both the player's actions and the game's world,” explains Jason Koohi, the game's director, artist, writer, and musician. Enemies crash dramatically when shot down, pilots may eject, and fiery shrapnel cascades across the screen. The game's environments are similarly detailed to feel like living, breathing locations, with trees swaying in the wind, dust billowing from the ground, and set-piece story elements unfolding through striking environmental spectacles and colossal destructive events. "If we want the game's world to truly feel alive, then our environments have to get caught up in the chaos," Koohi remarks.

"VISEGUNNE's story, gameplay, and dialogue have been choreographed to weave into one another, giving the game a personality you don't see very often in shmups," adds Koohi. "Each level follows a narrative arc that imparts a sense of purpose behind each mission. Since our characters are foreigners to Earth—potentially even invaders—there’s an underlying moral tension propelling the game's action. Once a mission is over, our characters take a breath and try to make sense of the aftermath as they navigate their roles in the conflict." Between missions, players return to an overworld map where they can interact with their squad and other acquaintances to uncover secrets about the post-apocalyptic Earth, upgrade their arsenal at a shop, or customize their robot's color scheme. VISEGUNNE is slated for a PC launch, with its release date still to be announced. Check out the trailer and wishlist VISEGUNNE on Steam today!
