Zurich, Switzerland, November 18, 2024—Indie games studio Avancadia is taking the range by storm as its Wild West/fantasy RTS mash-up, Arcane Wilds, gallops into Steam Early Access today. Bringing a unique hogtie to the classic RTS genre, Arcane Wilds invites players on an adventure where resource management is at its core, all in the name of survival against rival factions and mythical beasts.
Gone is the tired formula of simply gathering resources and returning to the safety of home. Instead, harvested resources remain localized at their gathering sites, requiring strategic movement for effective use. This means that players can steal resources transported by rival factions and must defend their own, as developer Avancadia serves up a double shot of outlaw spirit and classic spaghetti-western action with horse chases, wagon raids, and desert valley ambushes.
RTS rookies and seasoned strategy veterans alike will quickly learn the lay of the land in Arcane Wilds across its solo and multiplayer game modes. The game features three distinct asymmetric factions, each with its own arsenal of weapons, units, and abilities to command. Players can embark on their own journey in the Mission Mode, completing progressively more complex missions, earning fame, collecting loot, and customizing their faction to suit their preferences, all against the backdrop of a vibrant, personalized home island that reflects their style.
That personalization can be furthered thanks to the first-class scripting support with Lua. This empowers players to create their own maps and modes, which can then be shared on the Steam Workshop with the rest of the Arcane Wilds community.
