Paris, July 12th 2024 - ARTE and its co-producers IKO and The Pixel Hunt are proud to announce the release of Inua - A Story in Ice and Time on Apple Vision Pro. The launch of this adaptation is simultaneous with the one of the Apple Vision Pro in Europe, in line with ARTE's strategy of innovation and production of original video games. The first chapter of the game can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store, with the rest priced at €9.99.

Inua is a narrative adventure game in which three protagonists see their destinies intertwined decades apart. Players must explore each era, collecting ideas and influencing the characters' mind in order to change the course of history. Inua's immersive adaptation for the Apple Vision Pro amplifies the gaming sensations of the original experience. According to its creators, this is the ultimate version of the game.

A mystical game in the Great Canadian North

Taïna, a modern-day journalist determined to uncover the truth about the disappearance of the Terror, one of the ships of the 19th-century Franklin expedition, finds her destiny mysteriously linked to that of Peter, a young filmmaker on a military expedition in the 1950s, and Simon, a Franklin expedition sailor trying to rally his crewmates in the midst of a mutiny. The player sails through the eras to discover what connects them. He looks for ideas, gets into the heads of the characters and guides them to Nanurluk, the mythical polar bear who lived there 10,000 years ago...

Inua was designed by the creators of Enterre-moi, mon amour, adapted from an original story by Nathalie Frassoni and Frédéric Bouvier, under the artistic direction of Delphine Fourneau. Game design by Armel Gibson, music by Tanya Tagaq. IKO, The Pixel Hunt, Albyon, CNC and Pictanovo helped finance the original game.

Inua on Apple Vision Pro

Inua offers a singular role to the player: being a spirit who must manipulate space and time to solve mind bending puzzles. The device's features make the game’s 3D environments more vivid and reactive as beautiful dioramas across space and time to explore. Players will enter characters’ minds in an impressive, fully immersive way to unlock the mysteries of their fate. Players are free to handle the elements of the game and the dioramas, which become real 3D models. This adaptation offers a highly intuitive new mode of interaction using "gaze and pinch", revolutionizing the traditional "point and click" genre.

An interactive ARTE application for the Apple Vision Pro, as well as Gloomy Eyes and Battlescar

>From now on, the general public will have access to ARTE's huge range of documentaries, concerts and immersive experiences on the Apple Vision Pro, thanks to the ARTE app available in the Apple Store.

Two immersive narrative experiences specially adapted for Apple Vision Pro are also already available: Gloomy Eyes, a delightfully strange love story narrated by Colin Farrell, and Battlescar, a frantic journey through New York's punk underworld, narrated by Rosario Dawson.

ARTE still at the cutting edge of innovation

In 2013, ARTE co-produced its very first video games, and today its catalog contains 17 original titles.  In 2014, ARTE began publishing innovative immersive productions that have defined the genre, such as Polar Sea 360 and Notes On Blindness. Leveraging the incredible capabilities of the Apple Vision Pro is part of a proud history of innovation and continues ARTE's long-standing strategy of creating applications optimized for Apple products and delivering the best user experience.
