FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dale City, Va. - Dec. 21, 2004 - What's on your wish list this holiday season? If gorgeous, nerve-searing arcade action is what you want, then download a free demo of Back to Earth 2, a new space shooter from Alawar Entertainment (www.alawar.com) featuring simple mouse controls, dazzling visual effects, stereo sound and hordes of alien invaders.

Backspace Software, the developers of Back to Earth 2, created an offering focused on the pleasure of using outlandish weaponry to obliterate well-deserving enemies. Instead of using both a primary and an alternate fire button, Back to Earth 2 allows the player to toggle different combinations of weapons, all of which are fired with a single button. During an intense battle, for example, the player can switch to a combination of Lasers and Missiles. Hotshots start with a pair of lead-spewing Gatling Guns and collect more armaments as the game progresses.

Survival is priority one in Back to Earth 2. As aliens rain down from the top of the screen and unleash a firestorm of death, the player grabs Ammunition, Health and Shields in an effort to stay alive. Other items that can give space jockeys an edge in battle include Crystals that slow down time and a Mega-Bomb that detonates on contact. Racking up kills quickly activates a Rage mode that allows the player to dish out colossal damage.

Although Back to Earth 2 utilizes a top-down scrolling perspective, every object in the game world is a 3D model. This allowed Backspace to incorporate numerous visual effects, from gleaming ship hulls to fantastic backgrounds, while throwing dozens of weapon trails and explosions onto the screen at once. Players can scale the graphics according to the power of their PC, allowing both older machines and newer rigs to run the game.

Back to Earth 2 features eight worlds, each of which contains four levels and a unique boss to defeat. Visit www.alawar.com to view screenshots, download a demo and purchase the full version.
