Backrooms Media: Viral Co-op Horror Game Set to Launch

Remarkably, this title has already garnered over 250,000 Steam wishlists and engaged 400,000 unique players with its short demo, despite being a solo project by a Hungarian student. The game has quickly gained recognition as one of the most awaited titles in the genre’s history.

The immense appeal of Backrooms Media stems from its connection to the Backrooms, a viral internet creepypasta. The Backrooms are described as endless, unsettling liminal spaces—a maze of eerily familiar yet distorted environments that seem to stretch on forever. These spaces have captivated the imagination of many, and Backrooms Media successfully brings them to life. During highly successful playtest sessions, players have already experienced the game's eerie, hyper-realistic environments, which perfectly capture the unsettling atmosphere that defines the Backrooms phenomenon.
