Halftone Gaming :
Montague, Massachusetts, 4 December 2023 | Halftone Gaming is excited to release their debut title, the retrowave horde-survival roguelite BloodDome99, for PC and macOS on Steam.
BloodDome99 is a twin-stick survivors-like roguelite with an over-the-top retrowave aesthetic, a cynical/satirical capitalist theme (and mechanic- you need to earn money to win, but spend it to survive), a focus on fast-paced arcade action, and an absurd arsenal of weapons.
BD99 takes place in a "Running Man"-type dystopian 1999, where Ronald Reagan has been President for almost 20 years and working class Americans flock to monster-truck-like gladiator arenas to watch combatants fight to the death. The game is drenched in the enthusiasm and cynicism of 80s action movies.
The Gameplay is fast-paced, intense and explosive, with a focus on build-crafting and "silly" weapons/upgrades. In its current (Early Access) form BD99 has a meta-progression lobby where you can unlock new weapons, perks, cosmetics, music, and more. During Early Access Halftone Gaming plans to add additional game modes, arenas, bosses, difficulty modifiers, weapons, perks, cosmetics, and music.
Features:
Fast-paced twin-stick action mixed with ‘survivors-like’ build progression
Unique scoring system- every upgrade a player chooses sets them back further from their goal of buying their freedom
20 unique and absurd weapons (as of EA launch) each with their own unique perks and upgrade path
30 build-changing perks (as of EA launch)
Unlockable weapons, perks, music, cosmetics, and more
Accessibility options including sprite outlines, auto-aim, screen-shake-adjustment, and more
BloodDome99 is now available to purchase on Steam for $2.99 in the US (pricing may vary in other regions). There is a 20% launch discount through December 10.
