Redwood City, CA – August 19th, 2024. – HR GAMES today announced that it will release BROADSWORD: WARLORD EDITION™ for Sony PLAYSTATION®4 & PLAYSTATION®5 devices in Japan on August 29th, 2024.  Based on famous historical events and set in the medieval period, BROADSWORD: WARLORD EDITION™ is a 3D turn based strategy game that allows players to recreate classic single and two-player gaming experiences managing your resources, fighting your enemies and conquering new lands.


Already available on PC STEAM for the PC, Microsoft XBOX ONE® & Nintendo Switch® devices in Japan & Asia, BROADSWORD WARLORD EDITION™ unleashes traditional strategic strategy gaming to gamers of all ages everywhere. Boasting turn-based strategy gameplay, BROADSWORD has players move from mission to mission in the Middle Ages. Command one of five different armies: the Polish Kingdom of Wladyslaw I of Poland, Henry III of England, Joan Of Arc of France, Peter I of Spain, or the Hapsburg Empire in this exciting historically based experience!  Lead different forces into battle -- including archers, knights, pikemen and catapults, battering rams along with special units per nationality.


Command special “hero” units such as Henry III, Joan of Arc and Wladyslaw I, among others whose special “hero” powers can affect the entire battlefield. BROADSWORD: WARLORD EDITION™ allows players to construct buildings to raise units and create resources for their empires, as well as research technologies.

Players can play any of the campaigns solo or challenge a friend in HOTSEAT mode.  Plan wisely! Historically accurate maps provide distinct weather conditions that can help or hinder your troops. Players can utilize the environment to gain defensive bonuses and recovering from battle or suffer penalties. Construct and upgrade buildings like town centers, mines, mills and farms to raise units and create resources for your empire. Research different technologies like forestry, ballistics, husbandry and more to advance your empire’s technology.
