Build the purr-fect cat mage in action-packed roguelike Arcane Blast , launching September 10th

13 August 2024 - From the creators of My Dream Setup, fast-paced roguelike Arcane Blast is set to launch on Steam on September 10th. Press and content creators are invited to preview the game, which puts players in the paws of feline mage Adrian fighting off waves of relentless enemies. To survive the hazardous world of Shadowville they must manipulate the elements to their advantage, finding strong combinations and honing in on enemy weaknesses. With online co-op available, players can choose to either take on the hordes alone or team up with friends against the chaos.

A decorated professor and arcane expert, Adrian finds himself imprisoned in a time dungeon at the hands of his oldest student. Now deprived of his once great magical abilities, the cat mage must explore the world of Shadowville, destroying fearsome bosses and swarms of unique enemies to rebuild his strength and unlock new abilities. Only once he has mastered the seven elements at the core of this magic can Adrian return to his own world.


These elements play an integral role in the game and they consist of air, dark, fire, frost, lightning, nature, and water. In addition to their individual spells, the elements can be combined to create new and inventive effects. As the run progresses, players can strategically choose new abilities to design a harmonious build, such as complementing water with frost or lightning to maximise their damage. Players will also be rewarded for their attention to enemy type match-ups, with fire damage proving effective against nature-based creatures, for example. Rapid-fire action mechanics soon reveal a strategic, tactical undercurrent to the game, challenging players to create the ultimate elemental build.


Following the success of My Dream Setup, developer Campfire Studio has leapt from cosy simulations to intensely fun roguelikes with Arcane Blast. Excited for press and creators to get the chance to preview the game, co-founder Oleksii Drobnyi said: “We’ve really enjoyed taking on the challenge of developing such a different game to My Dream Setup and look forward to releasing the full game in September.”
