Panic and Playdate started this year by announcing they have sold over 70,000 units, caught up with pre-orders, expanded the list of countries they could ship Playdates to, and launched the now essential Playdate title Mars After Midnight. 

Since then dozens and dozens of wildly creative and playful games have been released for Playdate, both on Catalog and in other pockets of the internet such as Itch.io. Games such as the following:

A cool GDC talk and hey, a bunch of Playdates were stolen that Panic then found outside of a restaurant!
  In other Playdate news you might have missed, Panic co-founder Cabel Sasser gave an entertaining and very honest GDC talk this year on the journey of Playdate so far, discussing the very first idea for the handheld to actually shipping it amid a global pandemic.    Of course, this is also where it was revealed that about $400k worth of Playdates mysteriously went missing from Panic’s Playdate order fulfillment center, that were then found outside of a restaurant. For folks who are dying to learn more about this mystery, please look forward to a future episode of the Playdate Podcast chronicling this caper currently in production.
