Chiba, Japan, November 28, 2024 — Today, INTI CREATES has released the first major content update for their deckbuilding roguelite JRPG Card-en-Ciel. New Extra Dungeons have been added to the game, giving players who have finished the story even more challenges to explore.
INTI CREATES has also released more details on their update schedule, including exciting new features such as new versions of cards, Challenge Battles, and an Endless Dungeon.
Card-en-Ciel’s receives four new Extra Dungeons
Today, Card-en-Ciel has been updated to version 1.1.0 on all platforms, adding four new post-game Extra Dungeons. Each of these dungeons comes with a unique special rule that makes the player’s deck and plays more powerful than ever—but the enemies are ready for it!
In Extra Dungeon 4, players draw an extra 3 cards a turn, making it much easier to build devastating combos and find their most powerful cards. Every battle in Extra Dungeon 5 will start with a treasure chest, rewarding players with rare cards if they can protect it to the end. The starting deck in Extra Dungeon 6 will include 2 rare cheat codes from the very start.
The final challenge in this update is Extra Dungeon SP 2, a dungeon with 9 floors, triple the amount of any other dungeon. This also means 6 more Muses available to players, enabling truly superior deck builds. But each floor will pose an increasingly harder challenge, with the hardest boss to date waiting at the end.
Details released for future updates
Monthly content updates have been announced for Card-en-Ciel, and today more details have been released. Each month will see substantial new content added to the card-battling game, such as new features, modes, and dungeons. The full list is here:
December: Alternative versions of cards, known as Parallel Cards, will be added. These cards will be earned in the new “Challenge Battle” mode.
