COREBLAZER Game Fest 2024 Wraps Up Successfully in Shanghai, China

Diverse and extensive crowds rocked up to Shanghai for last week's big event hosted by HYPERGRYPH's game investment brand.

On August 4th, COREBLAZER Game Fest 2024 came to a successful close in Shanghai, China. Hosted by COREBLAZER, the global video game investment brand by HYPERGRYPH, the indie game event attracted a large and diverse crowd of industry professionals, indie developers, students, and gamers.

The two-day event began with the "COREBLAZER Journey" sessions on August 3rd, featuring a distinguished lineup of domestic and international speakers sharing their unique experiences and expertise. Light Zhong, co-founder of HYPERGRYPH and the creative director of Arknights, set the tone with an inspiring opening speech. Other speakers included Farida Gazizova, Executive Producer at Paradox Arc; Jae Hyun Yoo, founder of Studio Sai and the developer of Eternights; Jaeho Hwang, Game Director of Dave the Diver; Zeyang Li, CEO of ChillyRoom Games; Tatsuya Suzuki, Senior Producer at Shueisha Games; and Yumi Lee, Game Design Manager at Project Moon. All the speakers provided invaluable insights into game development and publishing from their own game-making experiences, receiving widespread praise from the audience.

Several well-known international game companies also partnered with COREBLAZER for the event, including Paradox Interactive, Shueisha Games, and Evil Empire. The game festival featured an indie game exhibition showcasing over 100 indie games, and a networking area where developers can meet like-minded individuals.

On the second day, COREBLAZER Game Fest continued with the Chinese University Students Game Awards (CUSGA) 2024 on August 4th. The competition launched a call for entries in February, which received enthusiastic responses from university student development teams both domestically and internationally. Based on criteria such as innovation, playability, and overall experience, the committee reviewed over 500 submissions and selected 12 winners from the 40 finalists for 13 awards.

Initiated by HYPERGRYPH, COREBLAZER is dedicated to supporting exceptional game developers to achieve their creative visions. Creating video games is a trailblazing journey. COREBLAZER aspires to be the companion of brave trailblazers on their venture. In addition to its longstanding support for student game competitions and game jams, COREBLAZER launched its own indie game event in 2023. This year’s event is the second in the “COREBLAZER” series, building on the momentum of last year’s acclaimed "COREBLAZER Rising Star Project 2023."
