Long Tale Games :

Undead Fox Studio and LTG Publishing are happy to announce the full release of their infernal project, Dark Lord. In this narrative card-based roguelike RPG, players will embark on an adventure-driven story about the enigmatic Dark Lord, putting their strategic skills to the test while developing and ruling their realm.

The full version includes a powerful UGC editor, enabling players to create and share their own stories with the community, adding a new layer of creativity and engagement. Throughout their quest, players will need to make numerous decisions, and then experience the consequences; what's more, they can also share their journey with their friends. Will they rule with an iron fist, tap into their cunning nature to survive, fortify their borders, or strike a balance between political intrigues and military might?

Dark Lord is completely free to play. Players will have access to the main story campaign and the full functionality of the custom story editor, including stories created by other players. The publisher's goal is to inspire as many users as possible to start creating their own stories and unleash their creativity. The only monetization is through the "Thank You, Developers" DLC, which provides small backstories of the various Shady Advisors found in the game.

“We've spent the past few months gathering invaluable feedback from our demo release, and we’ve made significant improvements with a strong focus on the UGC editor, allowing players to unleash their creativity and shape their own adventures,” commented Alex Stetsiuk, CEO of Undead Fox.

Key Features of Dark Lord:

  • Strategic Role-Playing with Roguelike Elements: Embark on an adventure, develop territories, manage cunning advisors, mastermind devious conspiracies, and tackle quests.

  • Player-Driven Storyline: Choices have consequences, dictating the twists and turns of the narrative and allowing you to craft a unique story.

  • UGC Mode: Create your own stories and adventures, share them with the community, and explore the plots crafted by other players.

  • Dark Humor: Embark on hilariously twisted quests and face challenges with a wicked grin!

  • Shady Advisors and Political Intrigues: Balance military might with political savvy. Manage your advisors carefully as they may be plotting schemes of their own.

  • Hand-Crafted Graphics: The hand-crafted visuals of the game take you deep into the ambiance of a brooding kingdom.

In February 2024, Dark Lord showcased its core gameplay in the demo version. A user-generated story contest with cash prizes introduced the first player-created adventures. In addition to the full release of the game, the publisher has released a new trailer revealing more details about the adventure's plot, along with a detailed explanation for the UGC mode to help players take their first steps in creating their own stories.
