CATO: Buttered Cat is a side-scrolling puzzle platformer with an adorable aesthetic. Players will navigate through various whimsical worlds, solving puzzles using the "Floating paradox" created by the combination and separation of a cat and buttered toast. Originally a winning entry from the BOOOMJAM creation event on the GCORES community, the development team met on the platform and completed the game through remote collaboration.
Compared to the free demo currently available on Steam, the official release of CATO: Buttered Cat features a wealth of new content:
Five Thematic Worlds: The full version offers five distinct thematic worlds, each with unique machines, puzzles, and gameplay. The main and side content amounts to approximately 200 levels, with side quests including highly difficult challenges.
Expanded Content: The demo only represents about 20% of the full game's content. The official release includes new features such as cat-toast skins, mini-games, and hidden rooms.
Collectible Galore: The launch version includes 30 cat and toast skins for players to discover and collect.
Enhanced Art and Music: The game features polished visuals and audio, with more indie animations for the cat, added cutscenes, richer BGM, and gameplay improvements like level skip options and hints.
The game is also slated for future release on mobile, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation platforms. Pre-registration is now open exclusively on TapTap for the mobile version.
