Esports World Cup to Showcase Exciting New RTS, Stormgate , from Frost Giant Studios

Irvine, California, August 12, 2024–Frost Giant Studios, the veteran development team dedicated to creating the next great real-time strategy game, is thrilled to partner with the Esports World Cup to announce that Stormgate™, its highly anticipated RTS, will be featured in an exhibition at the upcoming Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Stormgate exhibition will begin on August 13 at 8 p.m. local time in Riyadh (10 a.m. Pacific) and can be watched online at https://twitch.tv/PlayStormgate.
 
The Esports World Cup is an annual multi-genre competition that began in July. It is one of the largest and most prestigious global esports gatherings in history, drawing spectators and talent from around the world. A host of Stormgate activities will begin taking place at EWC on August 12-14, 2024, including opportunities for fans to play the Early Access release of Stormgate and a tournament featuring top RTS pros hailing from North America, Europe, China, and Korea.
 
This Invitational is a significant milestone for Frost Giant Studios–Stormgate, now entering its Early Access development phase, is being showcased side-by-side with some of the most popular games in the world, including many with long-running and storied competitive esports scenes.
 
The EWC Stormgate Invitational will be a double elimination tournament featuring four of the world’s top Stormgate players competing on one of the game’s biggest stages yet.

These RTS all-stars will compete for the prestigious Esports World Cup Stormgate Invitational championship and their share of a $5,000 USD prize.

Stormgate, officially releasing to Early Access on August 13 at 10 a.m. Pacific, is a free-to-play real-time strategy game set in an all-new science fantasy universe. Designed with both competitive and casual players in mind, the game currently features ranked 1v1 competitive ladder play, three-player co-op missions, and an early look at the game’s story-driven campaign mode. In the future, Frost Giant will introduce a bespoke 3v3 mode as well as a powerful in-game editor so that creators can build their own maps, mods, and custom games.
 
Broadcast coverage of the EWC will be available live on Twitch in English, and on other platforms in various languages. The EWC Stormgate Invitational features a stellar lineup of esports broadcast talent including host James "Kaelaris" Carrol, the iconic casting duo of Nick "Tasteless" Plott and Dan "Artosis" Stemkoski, alongside Jessica "ZombieGrub" Chernega and Kevin "RotterdaM" van der Kooi.
