The matches are set for the first global VALORANT Champions Tour event of 2024. From March 14 - 24, the top 8 teams from around the world will compete in Madrid, Spain for the title of Masters Madrid Champion. Take a look below for more information on the participating teams, format, brackets and schedule.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS

The 2024 season began with Kickoff Tournaments across the four International Leagues - VCT Americas, VCT CN, VCT EMEA, and VCT Pacific. Within each League, 11 teams competed amongst each other to determine the strongest 2 teams to serve as their representatives in Madrid. The teams heading to Madrid are:

VCT Americas

VCT Pacific

VCT EMEA

VCT CN

LOUD

Paper Rex

Team Heretics

Funplus Phoenix

Sentinels

Gen.G

Karmine Corp

Edward Gaming

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Masters Madrid will be split into two parts - the all new Swiss Stage and the Bracket Stage.

To determine the starting match-ups, teams will be drawn into 4 matches based on the results of the Kickoff Tournaments. In the first round, we’ll see teams who won their Kick-Off events face off against all the second place finishers. No same region match-ups here.

Swiss Stage (March 14 - 18)

In the Swiss Stage, teams will need to secure 2 victories before they accumulate 2 losses across a maximum of three rounds to advance out of Swiss. Each match will be a Best of Three series.

Teams who win Round 1, will move up and those who lose will find themselves in elimination matches. Between each round, two fully random draws will decide the matches - and from here on out, same region match-ups will be allowed. After three rounds of Swiss competition, we’ll have our 4 Bracket Stage contenders.

Bracket Stage (March 21 - 24)

A random draw will pair the competitors, a double elimination bracket will narrow them down, and we’ll close out with a Best-of-Five series in the Lower and Grand Finals. The last team standing will earn the title of Masters Madrid Champion.
