Indonesia has a rich history of ancient Hindu and Muslim Kingdoms battling it out for dominance and the most contested region has always been the beautiful island of Bali. It was the last part of Indonesia which was conquered by the Colonial Powers as Portugal, England and the Netherlands competed in a land grab and for control of the spice islands.
