Die ganze Welt ist von einem Pesthauch überzogen: Das schwebende Schloss Welkin ist die letzte Zuflucht für die Menschheit. Denn: Die Erde ist von bösartigen Kreaturen übersät, die von der Seuche geschaffen wurden, während das Schloss in den Wolken von den Schrecken der Erde isoliert ist.

Im Schloss Welkin kämpfen derweil die Bewohner unter der bedrückenden Herrschaft des Tyrannen Ivor ums Überleben. Durch die Pestilenz auf der Erde haben sie keine andere Wahl als die Tyranei zu erdulden – bis ein ungewöhnliches Duo Ivor herausfordert. Wird die ungewöhnliche Allianz zwischen einem Politiker und einem Wiedergänger (Revenant) stark genug sein, um diese Bedrohung zu bekämpfen?
