Landshut, Germany, March 8, 2022 - The leading manufacturer of sim racing hardware, Fanatec, announces a partnership with popular sim racer Jimmy Broadbent to support his motorsport career in the 2022 Praga Cup. The partnership will also include other esports and motorsport activities, set to be announced at a later date during 2022.
Fanatec has made major strides to bring motorsport and sim racing closer together with groundbreaking concepts like the Fanatec GT World Challenge, the first race series featuring an esports cup that contributes points to the overall standings, and the development of the steering wheel for the 2022 BMW M4 GT3 race car. With Jimmy Broadbent and Praga Cup, the brand looks to maintain this momentum, bringing both worlds to a broader audience.
Thomas Jackermeier, Fanatec CEO:
"As we’ve been striving towards bringing sim racing and motorsport closer together, we’ve also been keenly following Jimmy’s racing career. The choice to sponsor Jimmy’s Praga was an easy one to make, especially seeing what he was capable of last season. This also means we have opportunities to explore more ways that sim racing combines with motorsport and 2022 will bring some exciting steps forward in this regard.”
Jimmy Broadbent:
"I'm incredibly excited to be working alongside Fanatec, as we both have the goal of blending simulation and reality. Getting to go racing is already such a privilege, and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together during this partnership!"
The 2022 Praga season starts this weekend at Silverstone on the 12th and 13th of March, followed by rounds at Spa Francorchamps, Donington Park, Snetterton, and Oulton Park. Fans can buy tickets through the Team87 website www.team87.gg or directly from the circuits.
