To celebrate the launch of The Getaway: Black Monday, Sony Computer Entertainment has teamed up with Virgin Megastores to produce the first ever interactive store window, set to give the public a taste of one of the most hotly awaited gaming titles of the year.
The interactive window, at Virgin Megastores No. 1 Piccadilly store, uses The Getaway: Black Monday's London crime theme, giving passers-by the opportunity to interact with the criminal underworld of the game.
Set against a backdrop of a detailed photo-realistic map of London, The Getaway: Black Monday tells the story of a group of small-time criminals who unknowingly get mixed up in the capital's dangerous criminal underworld. Complete with the city's clogged-up roads and the congestion charge, the game is a stimulating corruption caper into the underbelly of London.
The window, at Virgin Megastores London landmark store, contains 16 CCTV monitors featuring footage from live security cameras positioned around London, as featured in the game. By touching various infra-red 'hotspots' on an image of the London skyline on the glass, an action sequence from the game is played on one of the CCTV monitors. Users on the street can also find themselves involved with the crime scene of the game as secret cameras capture images of customers, and incorporate them into the game display.
The Getaway:Black Monday is available in Virgin Megastores nationwide, £37.99. Suitable for ages 18+
The Virgin Megastores window has been designed and produced by Allofus.
