FIRST PLAYABLE 2024: SOLD OUT FOR THE SIXTH EDITION OF IIDEA'S BUSINESS EVENT FROM JULY 3-5 IN FLORENCE

Milan, July 1, 2024 – The sixth edition of First Playable, the business event for the video game sector, will commence in two days, from July 3-5 in Florence. Organized by IIDEA, the association representing the industry in Italy, and Toscana Film Commission – Fondazione Sistema Toscana, in collaboration with the ICE Agency and supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the event aims to accelerate the growth and consolidation of the Italian video game industry.
The event kicks off on July 3 at 2:00 PM with the opening conference at Cinema La Compagnia, the Cinema House of the Tuscany Region, featuring numerous international guests, including Jeremiah Cohn – CMO, Member of the Board, CD Projekt Red, Raphael Colantonio – President and Creative Director, WolfEye Studios, Abhi Swami – Creative Director, Visai Games, and Daisy Fernandez – Senior Narrative Designer, Nerial.
Due to the country partnership established by First Playable with France, the first day will include two panels with representatives from the Institut Français Italia, the diplomatic cultural network promoting French culture abroad, and SNJV (Syndicat National du Jeu Vidéo), the association representing video game professionals and production companies in France. This partnership, the first in the event's history, will also host CNC – Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée, the public body responsible for implementing multilateral policies in cinema, audiovisual, and video games, along with three French development studios: Digixart, Spiders, and Umanimation.
On July 4 and 5, at the Innovation Centre of Nana Bianca, participants can attend nine workshops on business topics organized by First Playable partners: Audio Network, Unreal Engine, GPEM, Xsolla, Bologna Game Farm, LCA Law Firm, Ministry of Culture, Milestone, and Vigamus Group.
For the pitching sessions scheduled for July 4 and 5, more than 45 international publishers and investors from 12 countries (Australia, Canada, Cyprus, South Korea, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, UK, US) will be in Florence to meet with Italian video game developers to explore potential collaborations.
Finally, on July 4, Cinema La Compagnia will host the eagerly awaited Italian Video Game Awards (IVGA) ceremony. Promoted by IIDEA to recognize the excellence of the Italian video game industry, the 2024 Italian Video Game Awards will be live-streamed exclusively on Multiplayer.it's Twitch channel. The award ceremony will be hosted by two well-known faces from the site, Giordana Moroni and Pierpaolo Greco. The artistic director of the twelfth edition of the event is Davide Mancini, Developer Relations Manager at IIDEA. Throughout the evening, in front of an audience of industry operators, international guests, publishers, and investors from around the world, the jury will present dragon tail-shaped statuettes to the most significant titles and professionals and companies that have distinguished themselves in 2023.
Access to First Playable is reserved for companies, teams, and professionals in the video game development sector based in Italy with a "Full Access" or "Social Access" ticket purchased on Eventbrite. Tickets for this edition are sold out and cannot be purchased on-site.
