Focus Multimedia | For Immediate Release - December 2005
"Surreal", "intriguing" and "visually stunning" are just a handful of the superlatives that have been used to describe the incredible virtual worlds featured in Uru: Ages Beyond Myst. And now for the first time PC adventure gamers can experience this critically acclaimed masterpiece for a fraction of the original price - only £9.99 including VAT.
Uru: Ages Beyond Myst is the latest title to be licensed by Focus Multimedia from leading games publisher Ubisoft. It will be available at its new bargain price point from January 2005.
From the creators of Myst and Riven, Uru is the most immersive and ambitious adventure game ever created. Spend hours discovering vast, visually arresting worlds and solving mentally stimulating puzzles. Uru offers complete freedom of movement. You can guide your customised character through a 3D environment viewed from a third person perspective, and even customise their gender, clothing and facial features.
Players can move at their own pace, spending hours discovering visually stunning, real-time 3D worlds, solving a large variety of mind-challenging puzzles, and following an epic storyline. The story of the D'ni civilization began when they established their underground empire on Earth some 10,000 years ago. The D'ni people thrived below for thousands of years, but later met with a great catastrophe that ended their civilization. The vast underground cities of the D'ni were left uninhabited and their technology seemed lost forever - until now.
Craig Johnson of Focus Multimedia commented: "With over 12 million copies of the Myst series already sold, I'm delighted to make the franchise available to even more gamers at a value price point. Uru: Ages Beyond Myst is a key title that further strengthens our offering of this entertaining and highly respected series."
Charlie Barrett, head of strategic sales and licensing at Ubisoft added: "The Myst series of games has always been ground-breaking, attracting both male and female gamers alike. As one of the leading brands in PC gaming, we are pleased that Focus will be able to bring Uru to an even wider audience."
Uru: Ages Beyond Myst is available for £9.99 including VAT in January 2005. The game is available from all good retailers of PC CD-ROM software or directly from www.fmselect.co.uk. Other Myst titles currently available from Focus Multimedia include Myst III Exile with a RRP of £9.99 including VAT, and Myst Masterpiece Edition, RRP £4.99 including VAT.
