FreeStyle 2: Street Basketball Shakes Things Up with the Game Changer Update

Irvine, California – July 12, 2024 Joycity’s hit free-to-play online basketball hit is changing the game… literally. This substantial endeavor is being brought about with an update called, Game Changer. A culmination of development aspiration and player feedback, this ‘game changing’ update shifts the fundamental direction of FreeStyle 2, bringing true competition, balance and accessibility to the fore.


To kick things off, the Game Changer update includes a free premium character for all players. In addition, players will receive all the necessary progression items to properly level up and use the new premium character. In a similar fashion, all 11 Parts Characters which were previously only available via premium options will be made free for all players. This open accessibility will allow FS2 players of every kind to take their competition strat to the next level.


Joycity is also taking time to revisit and rebalance classic characters, making sure they are brought up to spec, and keeping fan favorites relevant. Players will be able to hone these classic characters to premium-grade levels for truly rewarding experience by simply investing playtime. The update will also provide 2 very popular skills free! Both SP Running and SP Stamina will be fully accessible to all players.


Game Changer will also bring about the combination of the existing Buzzer Beater and Regular channels (servers) into a single channel bringing the whole community under one, single umbrella. With the goal of making the game more competitive while focusing on gameplay.


Players can also look forward to upcoming Game Changer updates. Improvements to the matching system and further rebalancing are still in the works.
