GameRefinery by Vungle has released its latest analysis of the US, China, and Japan’s key mobile games markets for February 2022. GameRefinery’s analysts have hand-picked their top updates from February’s data for each country, including new releases, special events, and game updates.

Here’s what they found:

  • Big brands continue to make appearances in mobile games with collaborative events, and dare I say it, the metaverse. Chinese battle royale game, Sausage Man collaborated with Pizza Hut for an event based on sausage-stuffed-crust pizzas. PUMA collaborated with Minecraft, introducing new gameplay elements with PUMA-themed sprint levels.

  • Merge Mansion revenue reached a new all-time high in the US at $84K thanks to a Valentine’s Day seasonal event with metacore elements.

  • Tencent celebrated the Chinese New Year by updating the arcade kart racer, Popkart Racer, with limited-time IAP offers, recurring events, and new PvP modes.

  • Roblox remains a hub for virtual music performances and events. The Brit Awards showcase featured a live performance from viral TikTok artist PinkPantheress; the event included social hangouts and even a screen where players could watch the awards together.

  • It’s a good month for fans of The Office, an idler game that has been launched based on the hit TV sitcom. And a turn-based RPG based on the anime My Hero Ultra Impact was another exciting launch this month.

  • Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier celebrating the franchise’s 25th anniversary with old-school polygon versions of characters
